The full chain from land to live generation

CatalystGrid Energy is the commercial hub bringing together three specialist operations — so a project never has to be handed between disconnected vendors.

01 — DISTRIBUTION

CatalystGrid Energy

Accredited PEG® agent for Africa & Islands. We handle supply, technical sizing, commercial structuring and delivery of the racking and DC-cabling ecosystem.

02 — DELIVERY

Bluestone Service Group

Field execution — logistics, installation crews, commissioning and operations & maintenance across remote and island sites.

03 — CIRCULAR ENERGY

Waste2Energy Global

Turning waste streams into dispatchable power — complementing solar with baseload and supporting true energy resilience.

CAPEX · OPEX · LCOE

The impact of those lower CAPEX & OPEX costs means PEG® is 50% lower CAPEX than single-axis trackers (SAT) and 33% lower CAPEX than other fixed-tilt ground-mount systems — and will improve your project's profile to investors.

PEG® is a revolutionary substructure whose unique advantages extend well beyond just CAPEX and OPEX, with a significant positive impact on the overall LCOE (Levelized Cost of Energy).

Why Jurchen patented PEG®

Built for hard ground, scarce land and long distances

Africa and island markets share the same problem: every megawatt of capacity competes for limited, valuable land, often far from the nearest port or skilled crew. The PEG® system was made for exactly this.

  • Installs with hand tools — no cranes, no heavy machinery, no concrete.
  • An entire MWp ships in fewer containers, cutting freight to remote sites.
  • Local crews trained and led by Bluestone, keeping value in-country.
  • One accountable group from quotation to commissioning and O&M.

03System topology

Direct DC-coupled BESS with DC optimisers

Routing strings through DC optimisers and coupling them directly to the BESS on the DC side — instead of separate AC-coupled inverter and battery-inverter stacks — changes the economics of a large, utility-scale grid-connected solar PV + BESS project:

−25%fewer combiners & disconnects
−25%fewer homerun cables
+40%higher-power inverters, lower cost per watt
40–70%of mismatch losses recovered
100%array utilisation vs ~84% without DC optimisation
+17%more energy yield over a 40-year project life

Fewer combiners, homeruns and transformers translate directly into lower installed cost per watt and a stronger LCOE case for every DC-coupled BESS project we touch.

04Storage integration

Supplier-agnostic BESS controllers — mix, match, and upgrade

Rather than locking a project into one battery manufacturer, CatalystGrid integrates a manufacturer- and trader-agnostic BESS power-plant controller and SCADA layer — so a project can mix and manage different BESS chemistries and vendors, including newer, lower-cost battery technologies, under one control system as they mature.

  • Manufacturer- and trader-agnostic BESS integration & SCADA — not locked to a single battery vendor.
  • Pre-qualified for ancillary services, with live monitoring, alarms and data.
  • Agnostic interface to wind, solar PV and power-to-X co-located generation.
  • Track record: Denmark's largest BESS portfolio — 350MW+ / 1GWh+ across 16+ projects, zero lost-time injuries.
  • An agnostic control layer preserves optionality as next-generation, lower-cost long-duration storage technologies reach commercial maturity.

We'll run a site-specific PEG® layout, DC-coupled BESS topology comparison and LCOE analysis — typically within 48–72 hours.

The idea

Less of everything, more energy per hectare

The PEG® is a low-profile, 8-degree east–west design that needs minimal spacing between modules — creating an "ocean of solar panels" on a fraction of the usual footprint.

It is light, mobile and simple to install: no DC trenching, no foundations, no concrete. The module frame becomes part of the structure, so the substructure reduces to just three main components — rod, ground plate, and top/down plate.

  • Up to 50% lower raw-material use for a better CO₂ balance.
  • Installed with hand tools — steel rods rammed in, no heavy machines.
  • Field-proven since 2014 with 200+ plants worldwide.
Design robustness · Track record

Proven against real storms, not just wind tunnels

The PEG® system has stood through some of the most violent weather on record — with no damage to substructure, modules or cables.

CARIBBEAN

Two direct hurricanes, zero damage

Hurricane Ian struck the PEG® EW site in Cuba in September 2022 — a Category 3 storm with winds near 120 mph (≈190 km/h) — leaving the plant intact. In November 2024, Hurricane Rafael hit the same site at 125 mph, again with no damage.

NETHERLANDS

Three severe storms in one season

Storms Zeynep, Ylenia and Antonia hit the Waalwijk landfill site in the Netherlands in early 2022 with winds up to 100 mph (160 km/h) — with no damage to the PEG® substructure, modules or cables.

Why it wins

The benefits that matter on African & island sites

Maximum land yield

Roughly 2.1 MWp per hectare and a ~97% ground-coverage ratio — far beyond fixed-tilt and single-axis trackers where land is scarce or expensive.

Slashed CAPEX

No foundations, concrete, trenching or heavy machinery, with 78% less steel — cutting machine, logistics and labour costs dramatically.

Storm-grade durability

Aerodynamically approved to withstand 185+ mph winds, with a patented down-lift effect — already field-tested through a Category 3 hurricane.

Rapid deployment

Only ~430 man-hours per MWp. A full system ships in as few as two 40-ft containers, ideal for remote logistics.

Smoother daily yield

The flat east–west orientation spreads generation across the day — strong morning and late-afternoon output, less midday peaking.

Low visual & land impact

Around 1 m average height — discreet on landfills, brownfields and sensitive sites, easing permitting and neighbour concerns.

kWattSeries — packaged solar, ready to scale

Pre-engineered, modular solar kits built on the PEG® racking platform — focused on solar PV projects under 2 MWp and sized in clean kilowatt-class blocks, namely:

  • Small ~ 70 kW block — 14 m × 19 m, approx. 95 modules (62 kWp based on a 650 W module)
  • Large ~ 200 kW block — 29 m × 34 m, approx. 335 modules (218 kWp based on a 650 W module)

So customers can start small and grow without redesigning.

The concept

One platform, many sizes — no re-engineering to grow

Each kWattSeries kit bundles the racking, DC cabling, clips and balance-of-system into a documented package. Customers pick a kilowatt class; the engineering, bill of materials and install method come standardised in the box.

  • Standardised PEG® blocks for predictable, repeatable installs.
  • Scales from small commercial systems up to 2 MWp without redesign.
  • CatalystGrid Energy manages pre-installation Soil & Pull-out Tests (POTs) and installation.
